MINUTES OF 2018 PENRYN & FALMOUTH EUCHRE A.G.M
MEETING OPENED 7.05pm AT FALMOUTH TOWN F.C
Roll Call of teams was called. No Boslowick A & B and New Inn B (all arrived late)
Apologies: M. Davey.
The chairman asked if the minutes of last year’s AGM were true and accurate, this was agreed and proposed by S. Stuartwood and seconded by A. Jeffery and carried
The chairman gave his report stating that he felt the league had run well this year, including the missed week which luckily there was a spare week moneywise, almost all in. some saying that they are fed up with playing each other 4 times, but was because you voted for 2 leagues.
The treasurer’s report details of income and expenditure were made available. The closing balance was £169.59 without the late submissions. Paid out for glasses etc. Not been audited, to be audited.
Constitution changes proposed merging roles of results secretary and secretary. Proposed by
A. Rees, seconded by R. Elliot, carried
Election off officers
President: Les Hackett to carry on - proposed Sara Stuartwood, seconded by c. Jeffery, that Les Carries on for as long as he able - carried
Chairman: M. Page – Proposed by A. Rees seconded by C. Jefferey - Carried
Secretary: Paul Parry as above.
Treasurer: M. Davey – has indicated that she would like to stand down, but she would stay on for 1 more year: proposed – C. Jeffrey, seconded M. Page
Vice Chair - Di Westwood - carry on. carried
Correspondence:
Email from Jen West, look for someone to teach the basics of euchre to 4 residents of the McCarthy Stone development in Bar Road, Falmouth. – Les Hackett said that he would contact them.
Agenda items:
Honorariums: due to the funds levels no to do them this this year. Proposer R. Rundle, B. Jeffery
Expenses: Paul to Submit receipts. Carried
League fees: proposal that teams that pay in one lump, the fees ate to be paid by the November League meeting, the exception being those that pay their own fees and collect weekly. To avoid the treasurer running around chasing monies.
Cup Fees: again people not paying in advance. with the forms. No money no play, but we don’t want to lose the players. Cup fees with the form.
Number of leagues if we have 16+ teams then 2 leagues, less 1 league - carried by a vote of 17-13. 2 leagues for 16+ vote all for 2 leagues.
Smoke breaks, bought up. But we cannot stop smoke breaks. Long ones hold up games. After discussion, please keep to minimum. As some have to work early.
Distractions: big TV etc. to loud and to close.
Website: all happy with it.
